Shared Values
At KHPS, we’re all about creating a friendly and supportive environment for our students! I want to share how the core values of the NSW Department of Education help us build trust in our school community. These values—Excellence, Integrity, Equity, Accountability, Trust, and Service—guide our staff and shape the great opportunities we offer.
Excellence
We strive for excellence in everything we do! Our students' achievements and high teaching standards show our commitment. By encouraging a culture of excellence, we inspire our students to dream big and work hard, helping them succeed. Our school plan focuses on boosting literacy and numeracy to ensure all students shine!
Integrity
Integrity is key to our school community. We create an environment where honesty is valued. By modelling ethical behaviour, we teach our students about responsibility and build trust among everyone at KHPS. Our school plan emphasises positive relationships that strengthen our community.
Equity
Equity means every student gets the support they need to thrive. We provide personalised learning plans and assistance, especially for those facing challenges. By prioritising equity, we create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued. Our school plan includes targeted programs to support diverse learning needs.
Accountability
Accountability helps us maintain trust in our community. We regularly check our practices to ensure we meet our students' needs, helping us improve our programs. Our school plan focuses on using data to track student progress and make necessary adjustments.
Trust
Trust is vital in our school community. By embracing our values, we build a strong sense of trust among parents, students, and staff. This trust leads to open communication and teamwork, making learning enjoyable. Our school planning encourages regular updates for families to keep you engaged in your child’s journey.
Service
Service reflects our commitment to the community. We support our students and their families, providing helpful resources and opportunities for involvement. This focus strengthens our connection to the community. Our school plan includes initiatives that promote partnerships, enhancing our support for families.
In summary, the values of the NSW Department of Education are crucial to our school's success. They help us create a nurturing environment for our students to learn and grow. Together, we can continue to uphold these values and work towards a bright future for everyone!
Thank you for your continued support!
Warm regards,
Gillian Tegg
Congratulations to Ethan, Heidi, Lara and Chloe on their achievement of book awards for their consistent effort in practising and promoting our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Success.
Yrs 3-6 NSW Public Schools Student Survey
In Term 2 week 9, our students in grades 3-6 will participate in the NSW Public Schools Student Survey. The survey gives students the chance to share their thoughts and feelings about life at school, including questions about their engagement, learning experiences and wellbeing at school.
Hearing directly from our students will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made to our school. The survey is confidential, takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and will be conducted online during school hours.
Participation is voluntary. If you prefer your child not to participate, please complete the opt-out consent form below and return it to the school. Further information about the survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss

World Music Day – Sunday 22 June
The entire school is buzzing with excitement for World Music Day this Sunday!
The P&C and FANS have been working hard behind the scenes to bring this event to life, to showcase and celebrate music and to create a fundraiser for our school, including the P&C, bands and strings programs, and the FANS Bilingual Program.
These community events are only possible and successful when everyone pitches in to help. It’s a special day for our community to gather, socialise and enjoy some music, food, and fun!
We look forward to seeing you there.

Best regards,
Anne Bentley

Purchasing Long-Handled Skipping Ropes
The increase of interest in the sport has sparked many students to enquire about where they can purchase their own long-handled ropes. Long-handled ropes are not only adjustable, but also sturdier, lighter, and therefore broaden the range of skills students can achieve.

shop -> freestyle rope ($20) -> 2.4m -> select handle colours -> add to cart ($8 shipping)

Annual General Meeting (AGM)
FANS Annual General Meeting 2025 – A Night of Reflection and Renewal
Last week, FANS held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members of the Association for an evening of reflection and future planning.
The event included a presentation of past and upcoming projects, a financial review, a Q&A session, a vote on a special resolution to update the Association’s Constitution, and the election of the new Committee.
Congratulations to the newly elected FANS Committee — a passionate and dedicated team of parent volunteers who will serve for the next 12 months. Each member brings a unique mix of skills, energy, and commitment to bilingual education.
After six years in multiple roles, Clemence Duprat has stepped down as President as her family prepares to relocate overseas. We thank her warmly for her leadership and tireless contributions to FANS.
We welcome Jérémy Dupuit as the new President and look forward to the year ahead under his guidance.
A special welcome to Kimberley Law, joining the Committee as a General Member, bringing with her valuable experience in bilingual education. Thank you to outgoing General Member Marine Hautemont for her role in welcoming new families and taking an active role in the Committee’s activities.
Thank you to all who attended and supported the evening. Here’s to another exciting and successful year for FANS — a parent-led, not-for-profit Association driven by a shared commitment to bilingualism and community!
