I am very proud of the following students who have achieved recognition for their ability to consistently display learning behaviour that follows KHPS expectations of respect, responsibility and success. Congratulations to Laure, Macauley and Charlie for your efforts and achievement.

Congratulations also to KHPS student Brian who recently had the opportunity to represent our school and district as part of the Sydney North Basketball team.
Congratulations to Brian and the team who went all the way to become state champions! What great news and a proud moment for our school.
Poetry Recitation Competition
We’re already in Week 5, and many students already know their poems by heart — well done! The selection will be a tough one!
Revision videos
To help with revision, the Teachers of French have ensured that all poems are available as a video including text and a neutral voice for pronunciation. Students can then add their own expression and flair to the delivery.
Practice for English First students
The LOTE teachers are pleased to offer dedicated poetry rehearsal sessions for English First students. We encourage all students to take this opportunity to practise and build confidence ahead of their class selections.
- Kindy & Stage 1 students:
Tuesday 27 during recess — with Mme Bacchi in the LOTE classroom
- Stages 2 & 3:
Thursday 29 during recess — with Mr Gold in the LOTE classroom
Presenting in class
- Kindy to Year 2:
The recitations will take place in class during News time in Week 5 & 6 or during LOTE in Week 6 (Kindy)
- Years 3 to 6:
The recitations will take place during LOTE in Week 6, and a winner will be selected to participate in the finals held in Week 7.
Year finalists: In week 10, finalists will be awarded certificates at the conclusion of the Assembly.
Poetry Illustration
Students are encouraged to illustrate their poem and submit their artwork to their Teacher of French by the end of Week 7. A winning illustration will be chosen for each year, and all illustrations will be displayed on the hall walls for the end of Term 2!
Teachers are lifelong learners
All Teachers of French participated in an all-day training session with the Department of Education last Friday. They touched on extending existing strategies for providing differentiation in language classrooms, explicit teaching in practice, and a practical session about fostering interaction in language learning. Our teachers are now actively applying these new insights in their classrooms to enhance student learning.

Thank you to the families who are up to date with bilingual program invoices.
As per the automated reminder emails, overdue invoices will soon incur late fees.
We kindly remind you that the timely payment of bilingual program fees is essential to the smooth operation of our program. As a not-for-profit association, FANS relies on these fees to meet our core commitments—most importantly, paying our dedicated teachers who bring the bilingual experience to life for your children.
Maintaining steady cash flow ensures we can continue delivering high-quality education and plan effectively for the year ahead. Sunday 22 June, 10am - 4pm
It’s time to get musical! The 4th annual World Music Day at KHPS event is hosted by the school, with the help of the P&C and FANS.
Come applaud the performances by the school’s talented bands, beautiful choirs, and superb strings ensembles. Stay for the delicious fresh food stalls, including a sausage sizzle, bake sale, gourmet sandwiches, raclette toasties, homemade soups, barista coffee, as well as fairy floss and children’s games.
To grow this year’s event, the school will be welcoming other bands, strings and choirs from across the Northern Beaches and North Shore to create an even more musical day!
